Day is approaching fast, which is why we wanted to profile all-star teachers to seek out out what inspired them to show .We reached bent Tarik Manfaa, World Languages Department Chair, for an exclusive interview about why he became an educator .Manfaa was recently interviewed by Open The News, where he gave his top five tips for teachers.With over 20 years of teaching experience, Manfaa is additionally proficient in Arabic and French.“I didn’t think I’d become an educator at the start ,” says Manfaa.“It just happened.”Manfaa visited school for communications and briefly worked for a post-production house before losing his job.He even contemplated military service.“My cousin told me to not enlist within the military. Manfaa says teachers should respect their students.He takes it upon himself to find out about his students and what makes them tick.“I treat my students as i might treat anybody I care about,” says Manfaa.Manfaa is usually punctual because he wants to line an example for his students.“Students are like sponges and that they watch what you are doing albeit you don’t know it ,” says Manfaa.One of his favorite parts about his job is watching students excel.Manfaa says one thing that helps his students strive for fulfillment is positive reinforcement.“Negative reinforcement doesn’t add my opinion.”Manfaa also tells his students to find out the talents that got him into his teaching role within the first place: language and communication.He tells his students that even having basic survival skills during a foreign language can go an extended way.Manfaa says one positive thing about learning a far off language is that it’s grounded in real world .Students who learn a far off language can use their skills in real world environments on a day to day .
