The American Bar Association (ABA) has been partnering with the Parliament of Georgia on a series of initiatives to promote the rule of law and media freedom in that country. Several volunteers have traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia and spoken at seminars and workshops on various topics. The ABA/CEELI team also sponsored a report on the progress of proposed media legislation in the country. This report was presented at the Parliament of Georgia in February 2010.
The American Bar Association/CEELI staff provided interpreters for local events and made all the necessary arrangements. The volunteer spoke at conferences, seminars and workshops, and met with government officials and legal experts to learn more about the laws and policies of Georgia.
