Awards
Nathan Award is given to writers, authors and reviewers for their outstanding contributions to dramatic criticism. The award may be presented for a work of criticism dealing with the drama of the past, a book of literary criticism, or a writing dealing with the current legitimate theatre. The award is given to writers and reviewers who are citizens of the United States and have lived in the country for at least a year.
The George Warren Fuller Awards are selected by the individual sections of the Association. The award selection committee is tasked with recognizing the highest level of critical thinking and fostering the spirit of the award.
The award is presented for outstanding contributions to the field of biometry or biomedical science. The award consists of a plaque and cash honorarium of two thousand dollars. The materials that qualify for this prize should be published during the period of July one to June thirty.
Media appearances
The American Bar Association (ABA) has been partnering with the Parliament of Georgia on a series of initiatives to promote the rule of law and media freedom in that country. Several volunteers have traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia and spoken at seminars and workshops on various topics. The ABA/CEELI team also sponsored a report on the progress of proposed media legislation in the country. This report was presented at the Parliament of Georgia in February 2010.
The American Bar Association/CEELI staff provided interpreters for local events and made all the necessary arrangements. The volunteer spoke at conferences, seminars and workshops, and met with government officials and legal experts to learn more about the laws and policies of Georgia.
